Most listings never get a video. Not because agents don’t like them or that they don’t think that they work, but because of cost. It can be thousands of dollars for a nice property video. So hiring a videographer for every listing just isn’t realistic, so it only happens on the big ones. AI property videos change that. You take the listing photos you already have, and a tool like AutoReel turns them into a video with motion, music, and captions in a few minutes.
This week’s Tuesday Tip is a quick walkthrough of how I do it. Watch the demo, and use this post as your reference when you try it yourself.
What AutoReel actually does
AutoReel is an AI video tool built specifically for real estate. You give it listing photos, and it adds camera movement and transitions so the video feels like a walkthrough, even though nobody filmed the house.
What I like is that it’s made for agents, not content creators. It handles vertical reels for social and horizontal video for landing pages, and you can add your branding, captions, and music without learning a full editing app. There’s a free trial, so you can test it on a real listing before you pay for anything (autoreelapp.com).
How to make an AI property video, step by step
- Start with your best photos. The video is only as good as what you feed it. Pick 8-12 bright, sharp images and lead with your strongest exterior shot, because the first two seconds decide whether anyone keeps watching. Dark or blurry photos look worse in motion, not better.
- Upload and put them in walkthrough order. Arrange the photos the way a buyer would walk the home: curb, entry, living room, kitchen, bedrooms, backyard. It sounds obvious, but it’s what makes the video feel like a tour instead of a slideshow.
- Pick your format. Go vertical for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Go horizontal for your website, YouTube, and email. I usually export both since it only takes a couple of extra minutes.
- Add branding, music, and captions. Keep the captions short: price, beds and baths, and the one thing that makes this house different. Most people watch with the sound off, so the captions are doing more work than the music.
- Watch the whole thing before you post it. This sounds like a no-brainer but I can’t tell you how many people forget to watch the content they post! AI occasionally warps a room or does something strange with a doorway. Take the 60 seconds to make sure it’s exactly what you want.
Founder’s Take
When I train agents on AI, video is the thing almost everyone says they should be doing and almost nobody does consistently. It feels like a production. Tools like this take that excuse away. My rule is simple: if a listing has photos, it gets a video. With AI, that’s now easier than ever!
Where to use your AI property videos
Put the video EVERYWHERE. Here’s how I’d match it up:
| Where | Format | What works |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram & Facebook Reels | Vertical | Price and neighborhood in the first 2 seconds |
| TikTok & YouTube Shorts | Vertical | A hook caption like “Would you live here?” |
| Listing landing page | Horizontal | Above the photo gallery, not buried under it |
| Email to your database | Horizontal | A thumbnail with a play button linked to the video |
| Listing presentations | Either | Show sellers what their marketing will look like |
Don’t sleep on that last one. Showing a seller a finished video at the listing appointment says more about how you’ll market their home than any slide in your deck.
Try it on one listing this week
Pick one active listing, run it through AutoReel, and post it. Once you see how fast it is, doing it for every listing stops feeling like extra work.
